An exciting new role is available as EU Project Manager, placed at the Office of External Relations, where the project management team of Linnaeus University belongs. Your task will be to manage international research and innovation projects, primarily funded by the European Union's framework programmes.
Your first project will be the Human Brain Project (HBP), a H2020 FET Flagship Project which strives to accelerate the fields of neuroscience, computing and brain-related medicine.
Job description
As EU Project Manager at Linnaeus University you will be responsible for the coordination of all administrative, contractual and financial matters relating to the project, and related research development activities. You will play a key role in designing and implementing the management processes which the project will follow throughout its lifecycle. The Project Manager will also support public engagement, communication and dissemination activities through the project website, social media, etc.
Requirements
Applicants should have knowledge and experience of project management principles, with a track record in the financial and administrative management of large international multi-partner projects. Direct experience working on large EU funded projects (H2020) is desired. Very good communication skills in English and Swedish (spoken and written) and a willingness to proactively engage with the European Commission and the project partners are also essential. In addition, the applicant should have a strong attention to process, detail and documentation and willingness to travel within Europe. Holding a relevant academic degree is important.
Other assessment criteriaA large and active international network of relevant stakeholders and actors such as research funding agencies, research organisations, public organisations, private companies, etc. would be an important asset. Knowledge and experience of the Human Brain Project would be very valuable. A background in accounting or similar would probably be an asset.
Personal fit and suitability will be important assessment criteria.
This is a full-time position, starting in April 2018 or as agreed on. The position is permanent, with a 6 month trial period. Salary levels at Linnaeus University are individual and depend on skills and achievements; therefore, you should specify your salary requirements in your application. Placement is in Kalmar or Växjö, whereby you should count on frequent travel between the two campuses.
