In an attempt to further elevate the level of strategic communication and strengthen the international brand name, Malmö University is hiring an information officer with primary responsibility to support our internationalization effort. You will do this by for example using various channels including the Web, social media and print. Included in your responsibilities and duties are writing and editing documents including articles and conducting interviews. Our main target audiences are international students abroad interested in our offerings, international students and staff at Malmö University, and partner universities all over the world.
To succeed in your duties you need the ability to develop excellent working relationships with colleagues across the university and external stakeholders to promote the international profile.
You will also support the department with proof reading and /or verifying accuracy, style and grammar of the University’s English material, on the web and in print. You’re duties can also include writing, rewriting and translating articles on different research topics into easy to understand English texts.
The candidate will work in the Communications office and will report directly to the Director of Communications.
Our requirements
You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from higher education, preferably in marketing, communications, public relations or journalism. To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience as a PR specialist, journalist, information officer or marketer. It is an advantage if you have a background in international PR or marketing with a focus on a young target group. You need cross-border knowledge and experience concerning structural, language and cultural obstacles.
The ideal candidate has excellent editorial skills, preferably experience from journalism, is fluent in English and good written and spoken Swedish capacity.
You have good knowledge of MS office and other IT related applications.
