The group Control Module Petrol consists of 20 engineers who are responsible for the implementation and design of software and hardware for all driveline variants within the Control System section of Volvo Cars Powertrain division. We collaborate with internal and external multinational system suppliers. We are now looking to strengthen our team with a highly technical skilled Engine Software Component Responsible.
As Engine Software Component Responsible (KASW) your job is highly diversified with many different tasks. Your main objectives are a combination of SW project management, quality assurance and technical design work. In this role you will work with control systems for petrol engines which involves ensuring of requirements for software and hardware. You will work in close contact with subcontractors, System project managers and suppliers and you will get a comprehensive view of the technology and the different car projects. As the role involves coordination and technical administration, you should have a strong ability to communicate and to structure your work. The position will also implicate a broad network and an opportunity for personal development in an international atmosphere.
Main responsibilities
• Main point of contact towards suppliers to define and plan SW projects
• Responsible for quality assurance and ensure that the SW meets internal standards
• Develop process, methods and tools to further improve our field
• Lead the software planning of the project and participate in several projects to communicate this implementation to the engine control system project leader
• To manage this industrialisation of software you will have a big network and a very close contact with your suppliers
• You will get a strong understanding and knowledge of the engine projects and electrical development within Volvo Cars
Required qualifications
• M.Sc or equivalent documented work experience
• At least five years experience from embedded system development
• Strong project planning skills
• Fluent in English both written and spoken
• Drivers license (B)
