The position as Engine application engineer, in the Aftertreatment Calibration Diesel team, within the ART Hybrid Calibration is part of Vehicle Propulsion. We in the team are responsible for application of exhaust aftertreatment control for diesel engines. The team calibrate related software and verify system solutions. The team's impact on legislated emissions is large and we take large responsibility for making our Diesel engines aligned with emission legislations. We work with a number of different aftertreatment technologies such as Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF), Lean NOx Traps (LNT) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). We do a large amount of our work in different engine test cells located in our laboratory but also in vehicles on site and during expeditions to find extreme climates and altitudes. We use advanced programs for modelling and data processing for best end results.
What you'll do
We look for a dedicated engineer who will strengthen our team. You will work closely with experienced engineers in a team but have a clear area of responsibility. Your work will be divided between the office, test cell application, emission testing, and vehicle testing that also includes travels on expedition. We work in an agile environment where you and your team's cooperation will be a key for success.
We believe you will excel if you have experience in powertrain controls and calibration and in diesel aftertreatment control.

Main responsibilities is to optimise application data, testing of vehicles and engine calibration, emission testing and verification, method development and propose software/strategy improvements
You and your skills
In order for you to fully enjoy this job, you have a technical background preferably within chemical engineering or long relevant experience of engine controls and calibration. Your analytical skills as well as your cooperative skills are well developed. You are able to execute tests "hands-on". You plan, conduct, summarise and report your work in a structured and thorough manner.
Experience in aftertreatment systems, specifically Diesel and knowledge within MATLAB/SIMULINK and INCA experience are meritorious as well as experience of modelling and statistical design of experiments.
Other traits that we appreciate are creativity and ability of initiative as well as a holistic mindset. We do also look for someone who can travel from time to time.
