Would you like to contribute to world class allergy solutions and work with innovative systems? In this role you will get the chance to help our customers around the world in their work to diagnose allergy and autoimmune diseases.
The Instrument & Consumables team is responsible for designing of hardware and electronics in sub-systems of the small size instruments system as well as all consumables used in the Phadia System. This involves work in various design systems and cross-functional collaboration with other departments, as well as external contractors, during updates of the current system or development of new systems. In addition, the group has a regulatory compliance responsibility regarding all electronic components and sub-systems. The unit consists of 14 team members in total, an innovative multi-disciplinary team with good collaboration.
We are looking for a person who would like to take lead in the electronic compliance field and be responsible for that all our systems are following the current regulations addressing electrical and EMC safety worldwide. Furthermore, to be responsible to initiate investigations and projects to adapt electronic subsystems if needed.
What will you do?
In the role of Electronic Compliance Engineer, you will participate in mechanical and electronics/electrical design reviews to ensure electrical safety and that electromagnetic interference and compatibility, EMC & EMI, are properly implemented during the design phase. In addition, you will collaborate in an engineering team environment and assist in development and improvement of test methodologies, reporting and coordination of various tasks. You will work with electronic components and modules throughout the product life cycle from new products to troubleshooting and improvement of existing products. In practice, this means that you will work with:
Ensure that the instruments are compliant with relevant EMC and electrical safety standards, such as IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61326-2-6. Both during development of new instruments and in product care activites.
Monitor new versions of standards and see to that the instruments are compliant in due time.
Plan and perform EMC and electrical safety testing with external test house.
Transfer of structures to production.
Testing of prototype versions of electronic components, modules and systems.
Troubleshooting designs and products that do not meet the quality and performance requirements.
Plan and lead design reviews within R&D.
Provide technical product support.
How will you get there?
You have a relevant degree from university, or equivalent, with 5+ years of electronics development from life science or medical technology companies and/or relevant experience from test laboratory or authorities.
You have documented experience of applying electric and EMC safety requirements applicable for laboratory equipment or medical devices, e.g. IEC 61010-1 and IEC 61326-2-6.
As a person, you need to have a strong interest and good understanding of physics and electronics. You are structured and reliable. As most of the work is done in teams, it is important that you have good collaboration skills.

A broad knowledge of applicable regulations and legislation adressing electrical safety and EMC, as well as legislation adressing restriction of hazardous substances in electronic equipment for laborative / clinical use; IVDD/IVDR, RoHS, WEEE, REACH, NRTL certification.
