Since the electrical and electronic system has become the main enabler of functionality in the vehicle, there are numerous challenges on it in order to secure key properties like safety, energy efficiency and reliability of products from the Volvo Group.
Our main focus is the research and long-term technology development in the area of in-vehicle electrical and electronic hardware systems, nonetheless our engineers work together with colleagues from a wide range of multidisciplinary engineering sciences.
We are now looking for engineers with interest in the development and implementation of hardware systems and who want to take on exciting challenges in an organization committed to finding innovative solutions with state-of-the-art technologies.
Job Description:
You will work with the development of concepts, evaluation of technologies, and design of in-vehicle electrical and electronic systems and architectures, with focus on the hardware parts of these.
Typical tasks include:
• Design of automotive control hardware;
• Implementation of hardware prototypes;
• Design of electrical system architectures;
• Modelling and simulation at electrical-system level;
• Driving of initiatives leading to exploration of new technologies;
• Networking with experts in the automotive industry as well as academic partners;
Since we at Volvo Group Trucks Technology / Advanced Technology & Research cover a wide spectrum of the development chain, work tasks will span various phases, from research and advanced engineering to prototyping and deployment of products.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum M.Sc. degree in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or similar
• Insight or experience from the automotive industry is considered as an asset
• Ability to lead work teams
• Ability to create new solutions and concepts with a focus on customer needs
• Ability to take own initiatives and drive them forward
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Open-minded and positive attitude and ability to adapt to changing conditions
• Ability to cooperate with work teams as well as ability to work on your own
• The job is dependent of a good network within and outside the company; therefore your ability to communicate effectively and to work with persons in different areas in a global multi-cultural environment is essential
