ISH was established in 1995 to answer a growing demand for a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels. Today, we have approximately 770 students between 3 and 19 years of age attending our Pre-school, Primary School, Middle School and Diploma Programme with International Baccalaureate. Our teachers come from about 30 different countries all over the world, and the same goes for our students.
Our Pre and Primary schools are located in our own building at Östra Vallgatan 9. These programmes offer an alternative for international families who are residing in the Helsingborg region on a temporary basis, or for those moving overseas. Our MYP (Middle Year Program) and DP (Diploma Program) are located in a separate building at Nicolai School at Studievägen 2, and is an excellent choice for all students, Swedish or International, looking to further their studies abroad or in Sweden once they graduate. The aim of our school is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and sh-ared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

A school counselor acts as a dependable, informative mentor and guide for students with diverse individual personalities, interests, aptitudes and future plans. You will guide students both individually and in groups.
In your role you will be dealing with high school students (DP) as well as elementary students (MYP) but your main focus will be within high school.
You will inform about choosing school, the school systems, job market and work life for both students and parents. Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to discuss children's progress. You can actively participate in the organization and development of high school admissions procedures at our school.
As counselor, you might also help motivate and coach students into further education, and introduce students to extracurricular activities and help them use college resources. Other things you may help students with include developing good studying habits and time management.
You will be expected to council students to help them understand and overcome personal, social, and behavioral obstacles that might be affecting their educational or vocational studies.
You are expected to be very knowledgeable about career preparation in order to provide advice regarding education and/or employment options as well as about application routines for universities, both in Sweden and abroad. Therefore, it 's crucial that you keep close contact with universities, keep up-to-date with different programes and participate in educational fairs.
KvalifikationerRequirements:
• You must possess a Bachelor of Arts in Study and Career Guidance.
• You work within a Swedish high school environment as a career counselor.
• You possess excellent skills in modern digital technology and programmes.
• You have excellent knowledge of English both verbaly and written.
We expect you to have excellent skills in modern digital technology and programmes. Preferably also experience of IB softwares but this is not a requirement. Since we work in an international environment, it is essential that you feel very comfortable about using English as your daily work language and master the language. Very good knowledge of Swedish is necessary
The successful candidate will be a strong team player and will have the ability to work collaboratively with co workers, as well as with students and parents. You communicate proactively, support and care for others, and have strong communications skills. You are expected to be a positive and service minded person with a flexible approach to work. This means that you enjoy working with people and demonstrate an interest in and understanding of others.
