hela Sverige You will be part of Mining in Västerås. We belong to Process Automation and develop and sell complete mine hoists for transportation of ore, coal and supplies to underground mines. ABB is the only company on the market that can deliver complete systems, i.e. both the electrical and mechanical parts. Mining also offers the electrical package for trucks that are used for underground ramp transports, an environmentally friendly alternative to diesel trucks. In order to meet customer demands, we provide a complete solution for Mining Automation (Integrated Mine Automation Solutions, IMAS). Mining has the global responsibility (Center of Excellence) for underground mining applications within ABB.
Tasks
We are looking for a new colleague to join one of our key competence areas with responsibility for drive systems. As Drives Engineer with us, you will have an important role in supporting the Mining unit in issues regarding selection, dimensioning and analysis of power and drive systems to mine hoists. Your responsibility includes giving technical support during tender work and delivery projects. You will take part in several parallel tasks, which includes from answering smaller questions to more focused contribution up to one week. The technical area stretches from medium voltage transformer to motor. Furthermore you will take part in developing dimensioning tools as well as mine-hoist specific drive system applications. Potential future career development could be to take part in the development of one of our new technical areas that relates to the electrification of whole underground mines.
Requirements
You will be part of a tight group of three to four people with great own responsibility. Therefore we are looking for you who can provide professional service, handle several tasks at the same time and work in a structured and result oriented way. You combine your attention to details and quality with several years? experience and deep understanding of your area.
This position requires:
• A degree within Electric Power including drive systems.
• Around ten years work experience of power and drive systems.
It is highly qualifying if you hold strong knowledge of products from the power and drive systems area, preferably from ABB. It is also positive if you have a broad understanding of electric power and previous experience as developer, designer or from a support role.
