Doctoral position in Computer and Systems Sciences with specialization in Network and e-Infrastructures security at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV), Stockholm University. Ref.nr. SU 917-0912-11
The Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) belongs to Stockholm University, located in Kista, Sweden.
About the doctoral position and requirements
The doctoral position requires that the applicant can be admitted to the doctoral program in Computer and Systems Sciences. Both general and specific academic entry requirements must be met, see: http://dsv.su.se/en/research/postgrad/ .
The doctoral position involves four years of full-time studies: one year financed by doctoral grant, three years by doctoral studentship. The position may involve admin/teaching duties up to 20%, which gives that the position is prolonged corresponding to the time of admin/ teaching work. The position requires good English skills, while the command of Swedish is a further advantage.
The research is in the area of network and e-infrastructures security. Recent cyber space incidents in certain countries and companies suggest attributes of informational warfare. Since modern societies depend on the Internet and e-infrastructures, the focus is on models and metrics for the detection and prevention of disruptive Internet scale events such as distributed dynamic cyber attacks (which may range from DDoS to impairing the ability of a country to function with respect to some sectors). The study should consider the legal and the socio-technical aspects, and enrich the models with the capability for risk analysis.
