As a Distribution Manager within EMEA Distribution you will lead the operation of distribution services including Inbound and Outbound processes for multiple countries. You will be responsible for the supplier management of two large distribution centres and a number of smaller distribution centres within the Area and accountable for the inbound supply from the internal and external supplying sites of AstraZeneca, ensuring that the supply of finished goods are delivered to meet the market sales demand. You will also drive improvement initiatives within the markets through close collaboration with the business stakeholders. The position will be placed in Södertälje, Sweden.
The role
Owns the supplier management of multiple large and complex distribution centres. The distribution centres are run in-house and outsourced to service providers.
Accountable for the day to day supply management in collaboration with the supply sites and commercial.
Monitor, report and improve inbound and outbound processes.
Run all relevant stock management processes.
Responsible for the budget and setting the performance targets for the distribution centres.
Establishes Service Level Agreements for distribution with marketing companies.
Uses budgeting and planning tools to develop distribution frameworks and track delivery against plan.
Undertakes management reporting via both information systems and paper-based systems.
Monitors and maintains compliance to current Good Distribution Practices, Safety, Health and Environment and Sarbanes Oxley business procedures, raising and addressing problems as they arise.
Follows AstraZeneca?s financial policies and delivers production requirements on time and budget.
Collaborates effectively with distribution leaders and excellence groups to develop continuous improvement.
Promotes continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance operations and delivering performance improvements.
Communicates business plan to team and acts as escalation point within the distribution centres to resolve any issues to delivery.
Liaises with Distribution Leadership Team to understand requirements and match distribution delivery structure to meet needs.
Responsible for implementing distribution changes and delivery of change projects.
Minimum requirements
Degree level qualification
Senior experience in logistics and/or distribution environment
Knowledge of supply chain management techniques
Fluent English both spoken and written
Preferred experience
Professional qualification in distribution
Leadership experience
Experience of project work under tight deadlines and service levels across different technology bases
Knowledge in SAP and APO
