We currently have the following job opening;
Director Vehicle Concept
This position belongs to the Vehicle Integration unit which leads all complete vehicle activities as CAE, Attributes and Concept and Geometrical integration. We make sure that the car has the right vehicle performance characteristics and balance.
Within this role you will be responsible for the Vehicle Concept development and Geometric Integration across the development units, Product Design & Manufacturing. In this position you will play a fundamental role in securing and integrating technologies with attractively designed top hats to ensure CEVT's competitive future. In addition, you will be responsible line manager with the assignment to lead and develop the packaging and dimensional control team.
You will report to the VP of Vehicle Integration and be a member of the management team.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Balancing Concept solutions, Attributes, Design and Manufacturing to give clear recommendations for Concept selection.
- Securing geometrccally integrated, feasible vehicle concepts meeting all complete vehicle prerequisites.
- Concept and geometric integration development through the development phases.
- Responsibility for direct reports including recruitment, salary setting, performance and competence development. Provide coaching and guidance to employees to ensure deliveries and personal development.
- Lead and develop strategies for the department
- Set and follow up targets for the department
- Support development of strategies and targets for the complete unit within the management team
- Budget responsibility
Profile and Background
We are looking for someone who has a vast experience of product development in large organizations, preferably automotive. You have a strong personal drive and motivation with ability to take initiative, drive issues and make decisions. You also have a creative and analytical mindset to handle complex problems. To be successful in this role it is important that you have leadership skills to be able to lead, drive and motivate the department.
You work well with other people and show both self-confidence and god judgement when making statements and taking decisions. The department interacts cross functionally and has a role to drive and balance contradictory requirements and you need to have the diplomatic skills to get to the best possible agreement and decision in those delicate matters. To be able to be successful with these tasks you need to be structured and flexible as well as good at creating relationships. In addition, you have the ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization.
Cultural awareness, specifically between Europe and Asia is also an important factor to be successful
You have a background of automotive development with focus on concept development for complete car and you have previous experience of being a line manager. Suitable theoretical background is Master of Science within Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Excellent skills in spoken and written English is of utmost importance in our global environment.
