Responsibility
We have an immediate opening for a Development and Technology Manager within the business segment Separation Products. Separation Products runs a unique product program of silica-based separation products to HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography). The products, marketed under the brand name Kromasil®, are used both for analysis and for purification in the production of pharmaceuticals.
The position has the managerial responsibility for the RD&I and Technology effort within Separation Products to assure high innovation productivity in alignment with the business strategy. You will have personnel responsibility for a team of 9 people.
The main responsibilities include
• Define and follow-up long and short term RD&I objectives that are aligned with the overall strategic objectives of Separation Products, the sBU, and the BU with the purpose to develop a sustainable, profitable product portfolio for Separation Products.
• Coordinate and prioritize technology, process, product, and application development activities, based on the strategies and objectives of Separation Products
• Ensure that the application knowledge with respect to current and future products is developed continuously in order to be able to report on trends in the industry.
• Be an active member of the Management Team, providing insights and knowledge on products, applications, technology, Intellectual Property, etc.
• Initiate and drive business development activities, leading to business cases as basis for strategic decisions
• Initiate and maintain contacts with external technology partners including Universities, Institutions and other companies.
• Maintain strong links with the sBU RD&I Teams, promoting working collaboratively across boundaries
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate guidelines and drive HSE-culture and activities in R&D team with safety as the first priority.
• Be responsible for covering the intellectual property interests of Separation Products.
Job requirements / Candidate profile
We are looking for a strong manager with excellent leadership skills, holding managerial experience from organic chemical - or preferably pharmaceutical industry. You have an ability to lead, engage and coach others, and are a collaborative cross-functional team player. In order to communicate across the global business, you are fluent in English, both orally and in writing. Your educational background ought to be a M.Sc. degree or equivalent in chemical engineering, chemistry or biochemistry.
To be successful in this position you need to be skilled at organizing, prioritizing workflow, and coordinating the work of others. You have the ability to drive change and have strong commercial acumen. You are seen as a role model in consistency and integrity and continually strive to improve performance.
