Six years have passed and we have grown to an ambitious and creative company of 600 employees. We have been awarded Company of the Year in -07 (bragging), increased our turnover by 13 570 % (statistics) and managed to become the Nordic market leader (facts). Klarna is partly owned by Sequoia Capital, DST Global and General Atlantic - companies that have seen the same potential in Google, Facebook and Twitter as they do in us. We think that is a good start.
At the Engineering department we are about 100 Engineers, and this is only the beginning of our journey of building the best Engineering Department in the world. We are therefore always keeping an eye out for talented and highly motivated people. We believe in empowering our employees, it is up to you how much you would like to grow. Our Engineering department is divided in multiple small start-up clusters. As a member of one of these start-ups you will be involved in the complete product development cycle - from concept to execution. We are a fast paced organization with a strong commitment to quality and agile methodologies.
Klarna is expanding further and we need more developers who can take our proprietary systems to new heights - a system that is the essence of a financial business that serves millions of consumers around the north European region. Our system is mainly written in Erlang, which makes us quite unique. To that, add all the skilled people that work here and the products we build and you get a truly great place to work!
What do you want?
You do not just wish to learn the techniques and tools used by Facebook, Google, and Amazon to build high-performance, reliable network services, but you also want join in and further develop them. You want to program in Erlang, a language that makes it easy to program in multicore and distributed environments. You want to be part of an exceptional development team, working with some of the most famous names in the Erlang world.
What do we want?
At Klarna we put development at the center. We have a great passion for technology and we hope that you do to. We are looking for skilled programmers who:
• love to write qualitative code
• want to work with functional programming languages
• have a strong individual drive to get things done
• are creative and dare to think outside the box
• have a strong analytical ability
You need:
• A bachelor?s or preferably a master?s degree in engineering, with a broad spectrum of programming paradigms as a base
• At least 5 years of professional experience of programming
• A strong drive and a devotion to write beautiful code
