We are now looking for a Mechanical Developer / Lead Engineer

The ART Functional Closure is one of the ART's within Painted Body & Closures and is responsible for the development of the Closure system such as Opening systems Side doors / Rear lid / tailgate.
We are in an expansion phase, we therefore need to strengthen our team with an experienced Mechanical Developer / Lead Engineer with Closure Mechanics / Mechatronic skills, with a big interest of Customer functions, this is to secure long term competence and to deliver our future programs.

What's in it for you?

The group Closure Mechanics specifically works with technique development and implementation of the following components:
- Latches , Handles , POD ( Power operated Door), POT ( Power operated Tailgate ) , POB ( Power operated Bootlid ) for Side door systems as well as Rear opening systems, Window regulator system and global vehicle opening/ closing functions.
Our main deliveries are, defining new system solutions / specifications / Functions in close corporation with our colleagues within Vehicle hardware / Vehicle Software and supplier network.
Also drive new vehicle programs management for the System area to ensure Time, technique and Cost.

What you'll do

You are a part of one of our development teams where you secure project deliveries according to Volvo's product development system and create technical system development for our part/area.
You maintain contact with design, other R&D members and manufacturing to agree on the necessary progress.
You will continuously develop/maintain design guidelines for door mechanics.
In your mission, you are responsible for ensuring that the technical documentation is available at the right level and at the right time and to be active in sharing knowledge between programs with similar content.
You are also responsible for verifying that all functional requirements will be met.

You and your skills

You have a Bachelor of Science, preferably in mechanical engineering or similar fields and/or several years of work experience from Team Center (TCe)/Vismock. You have a good knowledge of mechanical systems and mechatronics and it is positive if you have knowledge of technology in pre-integrated Mechatronics system including function ownership.
Experience from risk management or similar and knowledge in working with legal requirements and understanding of the technical impact of sustainability is preferable
Fluent English both written and oral and driver's license B.
