What you will be a part of
Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world’s premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat. The Airborne Surveillance Systems Business Unit has business responsibility for all airborne radar systems such as Airborne Early Warning and Control including Erieye, Fighter radar, Carabas, but also our operations within missile data-links and laser.Laser Systems Design is design responsible for all products within product area Laser. The responsibility includes all phases of design and maintenance for our products. We work in an interesting and evolving environment in which we are in the technical front position in order to meet the future needs of the products.
Your role
We are looking for a design engineer with focus on laser receivers. The position implies work, in a comprehensive manner, within a wide range of competence areas. As Design Engineer for laser receivers you will work with developing our laser products including theoretical calculations, development within the receiver technology area and other analogue electrical design. You will also test the solutions and participate during the integration and verification phase to evaluate and analyze the measurements obtained. It will also include problem solving support to production. We work in project teams which means that you will co-operate with other people from other competence areas. It is also important you have an understanding of the customer and end-user needs today and in the future.
Your skills and experience
The applicant should have the ability to see solutions to complex problems.You are result-oriented, cooperative and structured in your ways of working.You are responsive, have the will and ability to independently gather information from all possible sources. You are a good communicator and share your knowledge.By creating a positive climate in the workplace you contribute to a pleasant atmosphere.You have a Master of Science or equivalent in electrical engineering or physics. Experience from work with design of optical receivers is a merit.The position entails working with classified information and requires Swedish citizenship.
