AstraZeneca Patient Safety is part of the Global Regulatory Affairs, Patient Safety and Quality Assurance (GRAPSQA) unit, organised within of Global Medicines Development (GMD) area.

Our EU QPPV is looking to recruit a Deputy QPPV for an exciting, and impactful job.

You will be part of a small and well-functioning team of senior pharmacovigilance experts.

You are welcome to be located at our stunning campus in Gothenburg, one of AstraZeneca's three strategic science centres, the home to over 2,500 employees, from 50 different nationalities. The Gothenburg R&D site is the primary and preferred location. In certain circumstances other locations within the EU could be considered



Main Duties and Responsibilities

* You will report directly to the EU QPPV and in his absence, you will take on the complete EU QPPV accountabilities
* You will be delegated full QPPV responsibilities and authority for specified AstraZeneca products within several therapeutic areas
* You will be involved in all applicable QPPV tasks including, for example: overview of and input to the set-up and maintenance of the safety profile for allocated products; review and approval of Periodic Safety Reports, EU Risk Management Plans, PASS and other relevant documents; advice on management of safety issues and support for responses to requests and questions form competent authorities
* For the products in scope you will represent the EU QPPV internally and externally, for example in relation to; global product teams, business and licensing partners, due diligence and audits
* You will take part and contribute to oversight and control of the pharmacovigilance system, including compliance to processes and system requirements
* You may manage or support complex and cutting-edge improvement projects in scope of the QPPV function



Essential requirements

* You have a Master's degree or equivalent qualification in relevant life science discipline
* You possess basic medical knowledge, either formal or acquired through practical Pharmacovigilance work
* You have an expert reputation with extensive pharmacovigilance experience, maybe as EU QPPV or Deputy but at least with experience as safety physician (or senior scientist) for both development and marketed products
* You have excellent knowledge of the relevant pharmacovigilance legislation in the EU and globally
* You have a good understanding of the technical development in the field of pharmacovigilance
* You never hesitate to make decisions and you put glory in always knowing the full facts, value their influence and come to a scientifically based and credible position with the safety of patients in mind
* You are recognized for your communication skills; always clear, succinct and inspiring
* You have a track record of collaboration success with ability to engage, influence and support stakeholders at all levels



Desirable requirements

* You are a trained physician with a clinical practice record, possibly from any of the AstraZeneca focus Therapeutic Areas
* You know how to run a project to make things happen with speed and quality
