We are now looking for Data Architects to join Group Digital at IKEA. We believe you get excited and creative, thinking outside-the-box, with data and its great value and potential to the business. Moreover, we believe you have retail experience working with customer and co-worker facing digital products and therefore have knowledge and experience with:
communicating effectively across organisational, business, and technical boundaries
advocating direction, best practice and communicating what your team does to create trust and authenticity, while being responsive to challenges
guiding teams and make architecture recommendations with business focus
GDPR compliance and design of PII related data when it comes to e.g., customer and co-worker data
master data management around data objects like customer and product with all its aspects in the data lifecycle
data security by design in analytical context; e.g in the data mesh paradigm
ingestion, storage, event-driven architecture, data modeling, APIs, KPIs and dashboards in the Data & Analytics field
cloud and on-premises data architecture design
design with batch and streaming, ETL/ELT, large volumes of unstructured and structured data including a variety of database technologies
DevOps/DataOps and agile development practices, in which digital products evolve through the collaborative effort of self-organizing cross-functional teams
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the Data Architecture team in Group Digital you will be working with the aspects of guiding and implementing through data principles, standards, reference data architecture and being embedded in one or several customer-facing digital domains supporting the design and implementation of data capabilities and data products.
Your main responsibilities are to:
work with the business and engineering stakeholders to iteratively translate business problems and opportunities into information- and data architecture products
drive capabilities, design, data modeling and development of data products from a data-centric perspective
collaborate closely with data managers, data engineers, data scientists and other roles in actively advising key stakeholders including product and platform owners on future data and technology options
analyze and define master data management directions and propose alternatives to improve the overall integrity of the data architecture and how data is collected and shared across the company
act as main point of contact to resolve data architecture issues
be a leading voice for data architects within a digital domain and contribute to community of practice
contribute to data standards, guidelines, data strategy and directions

The Data Architecture team is the driver of data architecture standards and guidelines across the domains. As well as the competence centre around design and development of Data & Analytics - with new and existing technologies and agile methods to deliver at pace. We set the digital agenda to keep IKEA leading in a fast-moving environment.
The cross-functional product teams in Group Digital are responsible for designing, developing and running co-worker facing products with the goal of delivering an IKEA unique, best in class experience today and tomorrow. We believe that creating digital products that support our co-workers to better serve our customers is key to our success.
