The Order to Delivery (O2D) department within Scania IT is responsible for developing and managing IT support systems within Scania's entire flow from customer order to logistics, production, delivery and invoicing, as well as industrial maintenance. We work in an area with a mix of young- as well as well-established applications in constant change as Scania's business is changing over time. We are on a journey phasing out older applications and implementing newer technology. High demand on availability of the applications makes it important to keep the existing applications up and running at the same time as the new ones are implemented.
Many of our important production applications are developed in Oracle Forms and we are now looking for a curious software architect with leadership skills to drive the architectural work within the Oracle community to ensure that the applications will continue to be up and running when technical platforms are changed to newer technology.
Your responsibilities
As software architect within the Oracle community at Scania IT, you will be part of an organisation that works on both global implementation projects and maintenance.
When the functions are moved to newer technology your role will evolve from Oracle development towards other technologies, for example standard systems within an ERP domain or closer to production and more real time execution.
Your responsibility as software architect will be to have an overall perspective with regards to our in house developed Oracle applications, making sure that new implementation of platforms and technology in, for example, the infrastructure area is compatible with the applications. You will need to learn and understand how the Scania production is set up and how the applications support the production processes and functions as well as understanding how the applications are connected to each other. It is also important to understand the setup of the infrastructure for these applications.
You will also be responsible for driving the Oracle Development Maintenance Group, which is a network for Oracle developers to meet and share information and new learnings.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree or with appropriate knowledge gained elsewhere. It is required that you have relevant experience from the Oracle domain such as knowledge in the Oracle database and its surrounding products (for example OCC, Java, PL/SQL, forms and Reports, InstantClient). To be successful in this role you should be skilled with all aspect of full-stack development of applications using Oracle products. It is also expected that you have a good understanding of the underlying platform components, like RedHat virtual servers, Storage and network technologies. In addition to Swedish, you need to be proficient in written and spoken English, our company language.
As a person you are curious, enjoy taking on new challenges and working with a focus on quality and targets. Furthermore you are eager to learn new things and are able to lead your own work. You like working in a team, but it is also important that you can take the initiative and work independently. You are also organised and have a strong service-minded approach.
In addition to extensive personal and professional development opportunities, benefits such as company car, mutual bonus, occupational pension, flexible working hours, training facilities, lunch at reduced prices and much more is offered. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and Södertälje, Scania Job Express.
