Médecins du Monde (MdM) Läkare i världen is an international humanitarian organisation whose mission is to provide medical care for the most vulnerable populations, the world over, including France. It seeks to stimulate voluntary commitment from doctors, other health care providers, and from those whose expertise in other fields is needed for its activities, to enlist all competent support required for the achievement of its projects, and to seek at all times to encourage close working relationships with populations in its care.. The goal of MdM F is to intervene in the Mediterranean Sea throughout a humanitarian action including a ?ground? and ?sea? intervention as well as an advocacy dimension.
Human Resources of the project
A Consortium coordination team will be set up under the MdM France International Operations Department (DOI), with the support of the International Network Head Office, to manage the overall intervention in the 11 countries. The team will be composed of 4 key staff: a Consortium Coordinator, a Consortium Medical Coordinator, a Consortium Information Officer and a Consortium Financial Coordinator.
Overall responsibility
The Consortium financial coordinator is in charge of the correct utilization of the grant and the timely and adequate reporting to the donor, ensuring donor compliance is respected.
The consortium financial coordinator works directly under the supervision of the Director of MdM Sweden; with a strong functional link to the consortium coordinator, as well as in close collaboration to the coordination team based in MdM France. S/he manages the consortium budget.
Support the partners? finance teams
• Support the partners? finance teams in developing and using harmonized finance tools, through frequent trips in the field (at least one trip a month).
• Ensure appropriate Budget follow-up of the current funding plan is being implemented by each partner and support them in doing so
Profile
Professional experience
• Experience of minimum 3 year in a similar position (field experience highly appreciated)
• Experience in constructing and monitoring significant budgets from different donors, in negotiating and liaising with local partners and authorities in a moving and difficult legal, administrative and political context
1 Experience in supervision Required Skills
• Ability to classify and to manage priorities
• English (spoken - written - read). French is a plus.
• Review of supporting documentation during field trips
2- Donor compliance
• Ensure that all partners are trained adequately on donor compliance regarding financial reporting and all other grant requirements regarding finance/accounting etc
• Ensure that financial reporting is done according to donor requirements
• Prepare the project-end audit with the partners: selection of auditor, answers to the auditors, liaison with partners etc
3- Finance management
• Compile and analyse the monthly budgetary follow-ups sent by partners
• Liaise with partners on their monthly reporting mostly in cases of over and/or under-spending in order to justify it and suggest reallocation of funds where appropriate
• Ensure that all original copies of supporting documents (invoices, legal documents and contracts) are correctly filed by each partner and available for the project-end audit..
