Thule's product portfolio is growing and we are in a process of expanding Thule into new business segments.
To enable the expansion and in parallel support the R&D organization we need to strengthen the concept development team with an experienced Concept Designer based in Hillerstorp.
The role require that you get close to our users and customers to find the relevant insights for both our existing as well as new product segments and make sure that we make better, more relevant and smarter products than our competitors. Your main focus will be to translate these insights into valuable product design concepts. The role includes working with ideation of concepts, visualization of both digital and physical concepts as well as creating, building, testing and exploring concepts and in the end presenting concepts.
To do this with success you need to be a designer with a strong interest to understand and empathize with the user together with a proven and a keen interest to create great product concepts. You have also the ability to physical create, build & develop product concepts within Thule's different product categories. Your way of doing this is by being highly self-motivated with strong direction and presence together with teamwork with colleagues and work with an open mind and heart. Your ability to build credibility and trust with both team members and management as well as balancing between multiple tasks/priorities and still consistently meeting deadlines will also be a key success factor in this position. Furthermore - you hold an honest belief that making life easier for our users is really important.
You have an academic degree in Mechanical- or Industrial Design together with a number of years relevant work experience, preferably within the field of consumer products for high volume production. You are comfortable working with hands-on product development such as building mock-ups and prototypes as well as regular 3D tools and 3D printing. We require excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English together with excellent design and execution skills including presentations, printed collateral and video. You are familiar with facilitation and design-led thinking.
