Commodity Manufacturing Engineering is one of the departments within Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering. We prepare and implement quality assured, flexible and effective production systems in the Final Assembly plants. Our task is to ensure a process-driven product development by driving forward and coordinating Manufacturing Engineering activities in design and product development, with focus on production-effective product solutions. Our team consists of 14 talented people who work close to all our elements within the chain of developing- construction- manufacturing and containing process.
About the job
As Commodity Manufacturing Engineer you will lead the cross technical product and production manufacturing work, as well as represent Manufacturing during prepare and implement phases within the commodity area within Volvo Cars. Your main tasks will be to assure a flawless introduction of car programs into our plants. You will lead and coordinate activities within the defined area of responsibility and continuously strive for commonality within the Volvo Cars plants.
Your main task is to lead, give input, report concerns and coordinate the manufacturing process within Product & Quality and to ensure the input to Analysis and Verification needs is done. You will also drive and follow-up "six manufacturing attributes" and costs within area of responsibility
You'll act as a representative for Manufacturing Engineering within our function as well as in Product & Quality. Other tasks are to drive, create and upgrade assembly instructions for production and create and upgrade FMEA for your area.
About you
We are looking for a positive and proactive team player who has a strong ability for cross-functional and multi-cultural teamwork. Since you have many interfaces within the company, you must have good communication and networking skills.
Your analytical abilities are good as well as your abilities to organize and prioritize among your work tasks.
Further, you are a target-oriented person who can handle a rapidly changing environment. You are open and willing to travel at times and get motivated by learning new things and growing together with your colleagues.
We think that the right candidate has technical competence at senior high school or university level or equivalent and practical experience of production processes.
You are fluent in English both spoken and written and holds a driver's license B
It's an advantage if you also have
* FMEA & TCE knowledge
* Knowledge about the processes, methods, and tools at Manufacturing and R&D.
* Skills in Product Development, preferably in automotive industry
* 6 Sigma
* Fluent in Swedish, spoken and written.
