Join us as a Commodity Buyer (m/f/d) and you'll be looking at a career-defining role based in Västerås, Stockholm or Motala.
Purpose of the Job
As a Commodity Buyer you will be responsible for deploying the commodity strategy for its assigned commodities and ensure project execution. You will manage the relationships and negotiations with suppliers, pilot the utilization of supplier panel and secure the supplier performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Provide input for Commodity strategy
Be responsible for implementing the strategy through panel policy for assigned commodities, and accountable of the strategy deployment
Assess, evaluate and suggest reliable commodity suppliers
Manage relationships with the suppliers (negotiations, specific agreements, local supplier performances)
Create close connections with suppliers through providing quality work within the given timelines
Devise and implement strategies to encourage commodity quality
Provide inputs for purchasing performances and issues monitoring
Manage the initial issues before escalation to line managers
Effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders
Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct
Key requirements:
Fluent in English and Swedish
Business School or Engineering School or Master in Purchasing
2 to 5 years of experience in the area of specialization
Strong negotiation skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Independent decision-making skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
