Role Overview
We are looking for a Commercial Lead to lead the commercial function for high-value, technically complex construction and engineering data Centre projects. Drive commercial strategy, risk management, and financial performance, ensuring robust contract administration and stakeholder engagement across the project lifecycle

Role Responsibilities
Oversee multiple large-scale construction projects (£100m+) and manage commercial teams, setting financial targets and delivery objectives.
Lead commercial strategy implementation, reporting to executive boards and influencing business-wide commercial performance.
Manage contract negotiation, administration, and dispute resolution (NEC, JCT, PFI, FIDIC).
Drive procurement strategy for consultants and subcontractors; oversee tendering, pricing, and commercial robustness of bids.
Mentor, train, and develop commercial teams; manage recruitment and team structure.
Monitor and forecast costs, manage risk, and ensure accurate commercial reporting to senior stakeholders.
Support legal and finance teams on contract, insurance, NDA, invoicing, and payment processes.
Lead change management, value engineering, and dispute/adjudication processes as required.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture and create positive workspaces for team success.

Candidate Profile
Qualifications
Construction related Degree


Experience
Previous experience in commercial management within construction, with a track record of delivering high-value, mission-critical projects for Tier 1 contractors and consultancies.
Proven leadership of large commercial teams and direct experience with complex contract forms (NEC, JCT, PFI, FIDIC).
Adept at strategic procurement, risk management, and commercial reporting at board level.
Experience across multiple sectors: data centres, infrastructure, healthcare, commercial, defence, and pharma.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-risk, and international environments (EMEA)
