At ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems we are currently looking for our next Category Manager to join an engaged, committed and diverse team who daily plays a highly strategical role within our company.
In this role you will join the largest division within ASSA ABLOY Group, and you will be responsible for crucial categories such as steel and aluminum, which have a significant direct impact on our products and business success!
You will work in an international diversified team where your colleagues are very experienced professionals in the area of Category Management, Supplier Development and Supply Chain activities, who support each other, learn from each other and have fun together.
You will report directly to the Sourcing Director in Entrance Systems Division and, for the right person, we can be flexible in terms of location. You could be located in Landskrona, or Stockholm (Sweden), as well as somewhere else within Europe close to our offices.
What you would do as our Category Manager Raw Material?
In this role you will have the great task of strategically managing steel and aluminum categories in Europe/Asia as well as being our expert and center of excellence for those categories. Being an international role, you will work together with cross functional teams at different Business Areas and cross divisions in order to maximize the leverage of the Group.
You will be the one to develop and execute the Divisional and Group Sourcing and Procurement Strategy for the category to meet our company's current and future business needs.
What you will be doing
Leveraging the Group size and ensure synergies and activities are implemented to optimize spend within the category
Developing and executing effective supply management strategies and understanding market and supplier risk profiles and recommending/implementing strategies to reduce risk and ensure continuity of supply while maintaining/improving competitiveness
Driving and coordinating sourcing strategy and consolidation activities and projects across entities and functions
Strategical key supplier management such as regular business reviews, supplier scorecard programs, supplier agreements and initiatives to drive improvements in cost, quality, delivery, working capital for the category, etc.
As well as driving category specific benchmarking and negotiating the best terms with suppliers, you will also actively work to increase the divisions' expertise in the Category to secure long term cost leadership.
Taking an active role in the divisional Sourcing Management Team, today consists of seven people located globally, contributing to the overall development of the sourcing and procurement practices within the group, including defining and developing KPIs for the category.
The skills and experience you need
To be successful in this role, you must be a true team player and have worked in a matrix or similar type of organization and demonstrated the ability to drive change through influence and collaboration.
You have a minimum of 5-6 years of experience within Strategic Purchasing or Global Category Management and it is a clear advantage if you have knowledge and experience from the categories steel and aluminum
You have a Bachelor degree in Engineering/Economics or equivalent and a solid track-record from a global world-class industry where you have gained knowledge about the Category and trends in the industry
Result driven with proven record of success and reaching goals and milestones with a positive mindset and high energy level and strong self-motivation
You possess great problem solving skills, excellent business acumen and negotiation skills.
You are an effective and strong communicator at all levels, capable of high level executive interactions and able to work effectively cross-culturally and balance the needs of multiple sites and functions
Please notice that this role involves some travel Regionally/Globally to meet key stakeholders and suppliers, upon need, sometimes frequently.
