The Sourcing and License department seeks to expand the Application Services category team through the recruitment of an experienced Category Manager.
Key performance areas
As Category Manager you will manage the operational, tactical and strategic activities of the assigned purchasers and designated category group. You will ensure the application of best practise methodologies in the areas of market analysis, sourcing, RFP, supplier selection, internal and external relationship development, and supplier management (in conjunction with the SRM). You will also carry out any other activities deemed necessary by the business in the performance of this role.
You are also a key resource, with the challenge of developing our purchasing competency. Your responsibility is to lead purchasing policy and strategy with internal clients and relevant stakeholders for the assigned category. You will also negotiate and develop supplier relationships and ensure delivery performance and commercial management of key contracts. You can embrace the challenge to build, manage and develop business relationships in a global environment.
Your profile
You have an academic education and relevant sourcing accreditation (SILF or equivalent) in the IT indirect materials sourcing area, developed over several years of work experience in the corporate arena. Experience of working with SAP or comparable ERP systems, Microsoft Office suite of applications and/or Lotus Notes. A sourcing qualification from SILF, CIPS or an equivalent sourcing institute is advantageous.
You are result orientated, possess good communication skills and a high level of integrity and are stress resistant. You have good analytical skills and can drive the procurement process forward. Your approach is structured and service-oriented. Furthermore, you enjoy new challenges, deliver professional results and possess an eye for detail. You are fluent in both written and verbal English.
