hela Sverige As a calculation engineer (CAE), in the group Strength Simulation at Emission Solutions,NXDS, you will play an important role in predicting the strength and durability of VW Truck and Bus future after treatment systems. Together with cross functional teams of designers, specification and test engineers, you will develop world leading products for both internal and external customers of Scania.
NXDS is currently comprised of seven CAE engineers, who are situated at the Scania Technical Centre in Södertälje. Due to exciting future challenges we need to expand our team and look forward to your application.

Roles and Responsibilities
Cooperate with test engineers to plan, develop and verify after treatment components and systems, utilise loads acquired from truck measurements as inputs for simulations.
Correlate simulations of highly dynamic systems and test results, to provide both support and direction to teams of designers based upon your recommendations.
Work close with design and optimise future iterations with regards to strength, weight and cost as well as other parameters affected. Through expertise and competence you will help guide the product from an early stage in the design process.
Analyse results from finite element simulations and prepare both reports and presentations, to assist with, and to effectively communicate your findings within various forums.
Continually develop calculation methods with the help of new software and/or test data to improve efficiency and accuracy, both in-house and with the collaboration of external suppliers.
Evaluate new information, processes and education within the discipline of strength simulations, to be able to improve the best-practice currently employed at Scania.
Requirements
You are a graduate mechanical engineer with at least two years of experience and an interest in vehicles and structural mechanics, who will develop in a high paced environment with both individual and collaborative work tasks.
Experience in dynamics in combination with fatigue is required.
Both practical and theoretical knowledge of mechanical systems would be an advantage, as well as knowledge in the preprocessor HyperMesh and the FE solver Abaqus.
Experience of weld simulations in combination with temperature loads is considered as meritorious.
