As Buyer you will manage the supply base for assigned commodity on a daily basis for Purchasing & Supplier Management (P&SM). You are accountable for a purchasing portfolio and the day to day situation work for your commodity to 8 sites in Europe.You are also representing P&SM in different product development projects for your commodity and follow Volvo CE's product development process. You support and execute implementation of P&SM supplier strategies. The job has a broad network including contacts within Research & Development Department, Manufacturing, Volvo CE Purchasing, AB Volvo and our suppliers.

The responsibilities for the position as buyer:
• Purchasing portfolio in running production for direct purchased material
• Prototype, pre-series and initial sample sourcing
• Early,Supplier Involvement (ESI)
• Manage the working relationships with suppliers for the given site in cooperation with other site functions
• Perform the activities required for the portfolio; negotiations in line with the Sub Commodity Teams and to optimize the total cost (Quality, Logistics, Cost and Manufacturing)
• Reducing lead time from suppliers in cooperation with material planners

The reqired competencies you need:
• University Degree or equivalent level of experience
• 3 years of proven experience in a Purchasing environment
• Commercial and/or technical background
• Knowledge of up to date supply chain strategies and implementation tools
• Working experience in SAP
• Fluent English and Swedish
