Klarna is looking for a Business Development Manager to the office in Stockholm, Sweden.

Background
Since our start in 2005, Klarna has grown at a remarkable rate. We are currently 650 employees strong and operate in 6 countries. And as we keep expanding into new markets, we will continue to grow at a triple digit growth rate.

Klarna?s Business Development Team has been creating new products within the scope of Klarna?s strategy and finding ancillary revenue that will increase profit per transaction as well as scale with the business. We will continue to team up with partners to create an environment in which our merchants can understand and improve their business as well as deal with one-off issues outside the ordinary course of commerce.

We are now looking for someone who can further develop the Klarna business and help us revolutionize the e-commerce market.

Responsibilities
Currently, a large portion of Klarna?s merchants are trading cross border at high volumes, exposing themselves to currency risk and settlement issues. You will lead Klarna?s efforts in building our Foreign Exchange Product (FX Product), which will offer settlement in a defined currency, as well as mitigate currency risk for our merchants as they expand their services beyond their home markets.

You will have the overarching responsibility of building the FX product from idea to execution. Your work will include:
• Researching possible solutions and understanding all the requirements for such cross border transactions: functionality, pricing, and dependencies
• Build a team: recruit and/or acquire the right resources to make this possible. Once in place you will manage your team towards excellence along a product roadmap you will have built
• Create the product in cooperation with the Finance and Engineering departments, as well as tie this new product into the rapidly changing and growing Klarna ecosystem

You will be based in our Stockholm office and report directly to the Chief Business Development Officer.

Requirements include:
• 5+ years work experience, preferably in Management Consulting or other Project Management positions, Product Management, and/or Engineering
• experience in a high growth environment involving payments, financial services or the online industry is a plus. If you have wrestled with FX previously it will give you a head start, but an understanding of computer systems is more important
• a university degree to back up your work experience, preferably in engineering or economics

You should also have:
• strong problem solving skills as well as demonstrated ability to think strategically and understand nuanced product issues
• a detail-oriented mind that encourages you to get very technical whenever possible
• excellent project management experience, with the ability to lead and hand
