Role Description
We are now looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) with a "nothing is impossible" approach to challenges!
In this role you will be reporting to the Director Solution Center Common Services and you will be part of the extended Solution Center Common Services management team. Further, you will be a member of the MAS/DCL cross-functional business development team.
As Business Development Manager you will drive, enhance and follow up benchmarking, market intelligence and innovation. Moreover the BDM integrates and produces the status reports for the complete Global Solution Center Common Services. The job is performed in close cooperation with management and external parties securing an outside in perspective where customer and user value is prio 1. In the innovation area, the BDM is responsible for analysing the business needs of clients and stakeholders to help identify business problems, opportunities and propose high level solutions and corresponding pre-studies and projects.
Key Responsibilities
We want you to transform business and IT opportunities into novel proposals for Common Services stakeholders mainly within Group IT and Volvo Trucks in the areas of portals, ecommerce and mobility.
We want you to be a part of the delivery of the identified proposals and get the chance to own and lead the Common Services innovation/Business Value activities.
Maintain the Common Services innovation/business value database and follow-up the success of initiated innovation activities.
Authority:
• Initiation and monitoring of business development and advanced engineering activities
• Represent GSC Common Services in foras and activities on company and group level
• Support in review of existing portfolios to convert existing runtime cost into new investments
• Analyze Common Services BI data sources for new business potential
• Prioritize improvement activities for Common Services management team

Who are you?
As a Business development manager in Solution Center Common Services you will create a new "digital" atmosphere and mind set in the organization. This requires proven experience as a communicator, leader or entrepreneur in similar roles in the industry.
Since you are part of a global unit, with global responsibilities, you will need to actively cooperate with various stakeholders and navigate with ease in a multi-cultural environment. You're innovative and creative mind-set will inspire, challenge and help us grow. You also have a strong quality focus and a personal drive to reach the objectives and targets set for your unit, understanding how these contribute to the Volvo Group vision and strategy.
Required competencies
• Relevant university degree
• Minimum 5 years in sales or aftermarket
• Strong experience from working with IT
• Experience from working in a global context
• Excellent communication & presentation skills
• Complete proficiency in English is a requirement
• Have proven capacity to execute against set targets
• Have strong focus on cross unit collaboration in order to secure optimal solutions
