The department Product Creation is responsible for all applications supporting the product development of new cars and their manufacturing processes. We work closely together with R&D and we actively participate in taking Volvo Cars into a leading position of automotive development. We are an experienced team of employees managing application development, maintenance and support. Volvo Car Group, Group IT is in an expansive period and we are looking for you who can contribute and be a part of our IT team.
As Business Analyst in the CAD, PDM and visualization area for Product Development and car projects you will belong to the group CAD/PDM Concept & Change. We are 11 employees and 20 consultants/contractors and are responsible for development of applications within CAD/PDM portfolio (mainly CATIA and Teamcenter). The development consists of both small changes in the production environment and implementation of new software and new functionality/technology. We work closely together with the business and the suppliers of the software. In this position you will be the connection between the design engineers using the applications and the programmers handling the software development.
Main responsibilities
• Lead pre-studies and analysis within CAD/PDM projects
• Transform business and IT requirements to proposal of solution
• Work with requirement definition, problem solving efforts and implementation together with the business
• Support the application teams and provide estimates for new applications or system changes
• Stay up to date with industry trends and forecasts
• Recommend modifications and/or new processes to maintain competitiveness in the industry
Required qualifications
• B.Sc or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 5 years experience in the automotive industry working with CAD and PDM tools (CATIA V5 and Teamcenter is meritorious)
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Experience as a Design Engineer working with CAD/PDM tools are meritorious
