The Bid Manager is a key role in leading and developing winning bids. Working with the Strategic Sales Lead and the Lead Solution Architect in managing the relationship with the client, managing the bid team and the bid deliverables, assessing and addressing the effectiveness of the win strategy, ensuring on-going focus on opportunity qualification and the development of a coherent proposition. Primary purpose of the role is successful bid team leadership to achieve successful deal closure.
People: Take a leadership role with the bid team, accountable for resourcing and coordinating the efforts and interdependencies between multiple and multi-disciplinary teams to create an environment for people to do their best work and contribute fully to a high quality solution and proposal meeting client objectives and showcasing Tieto capabilities.
Process: Understand, lead and manage the opportunity through the Sales Framework, ensuring compliance with Tieto processes.
Business: Develop in depth understanding of client business challenges and work with the Strategic Sales Lead and the Lead Solution Architect to translate the client opportunity to enable the definition of a solution which differentiates Tieto from competitors. Building effective relationships with all stakeholders and acting as the primary conduit for the client and Tieto in the bid process. Initiate and coordinate review processes with Tieto/client teams and contribute to client negotiations throughout the bid.
Support the Strategic Sales Lead and the Lead Solution Architect to define the sales strategy, win themes and value proposition
Form and launch the bid team: Bring people together during the bid to clarify and update expectations and success factors, maintain individual motivation, team cohesion and progress against deadlines and deliverables.
Ensure the proposed solution will satisfy the client?s business needs and internal success measures
Take the initiative to keep internal stakeholders informed and engaged in the bid success. Ensure key stakeholders understand and sign up to and are willing to sponsor the proposed commercial, delivery and risk structures of the deal.
Own the delivery of the final solution/proposal.
PROFILE
Experience of Bid Management and Pre-Sales experience, working across industries in the commercial and government sectors
Proven track record of successful bids with demonstrated knowledge and experience on deals: e.g. geographical span, multi-offering
Experience and ability to deal with all levels of seniority from CIO to technical specialists across lines of business, geographies and ethnic groups.
Experience managing & controlling budgets and providing financial reports in a project environment and process of costing proposals and technical solutions.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Strategic and conceptual ability as well as comfort working with high levels of detail/accuracy.
Excellent communicator, experience in presenting to and facilitating discussions with senior levels.
Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously with demonstrated self-sufficiency and initiative, a self-motivated, passionate outcome oriented initiative/project leader, a completer.
Willingness to travel (up to 50 %).
Fluency in English (spoken/written).
