Attribute leader - Braking Concept
Driving Dynamics & Noise & Vibration Centre is a department within Vehicle Engineering. The "Braking Attributes" section is actively participating in the development and verification of the vehicle. We are responsible for analysis, verification and validation of attribute, functions, and systems regarding Braking such as Brake Performance and Brake Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH). In addition, the section is also responsible for the requirements regarding Braking Attributes. Using progressive technology and engineering, we are active and responsible during all stages of the product development process; ranging from the research phase through concept phase, industrialization and post production quality support.
The role Attribute Leader (AL) - Concept Braking you are responsible for Balancing Requirements, Analysis & Verification in Complete Volvo Vehicles. We are now looking for an Attribute leader focusing in the concept phases and early stages in the project phases.
Main Tasks
* Perform attribute analysis on Complete Vehicle (CV) as Attribute area expert
* Specify the attribute level with regard to the desired degree of customer satisfaction and competitiveness
* Assess the individual systems in the vehicle, and in interaction with other systems, affecting the attribute area
* Social demands, such as legal requirements
* Product Planning's (PPL) attribute strategies
* The Business project requirements, e.g. the Vehicle Binder
* Specify Braking requirements in Complete vehicle at System (Design) and Function (according to the Program specific function list) and drive implementation.
* Develop and document prerequisites regarding customer environment as a basis for attribute analysis, including taking part of customer research, legal requirements information, clinics, or participate in the test expeditions
* Perform Benchmarking to plan and conduct competitive analysis as basis for attribute requirements.
* Develop Braking Strategy and participate in TCP (Technical Cycle Plan) process (Needs-Means) as technical attribute specialist when developing Needs for the attribute in future.
* Develop and ensure that adequate analysis and verification methods (virtual (CAE) and physical (Dyno & Vehicle)) exist to technically describe and measure the customer experience as well as to verity target fulfilment.
* Initiate, support and follow up FU/OD/VU/ Method development needed for coming projects and fulfil Braking Strategy.
* Communicate the situation on complete vehicle level to support the best possible balancing of requirements within and outside the attribute at the planned attribute reviews according to the Vehicle Engineering plan.
Competence Requirements
* M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* At least 5 years' experience within Automotive Industry
* Develop skills, create networks and follow developments in the field by literature, and business intelligence
* Work experience from Complete Vehicle/System
* Experience in project management and Vehicle R&D program
* Good understanding of various automotive methods and tool
* Very good knowledge of the Attribute areas, preferable Braking
* Experience from engineering, testing or CAE in a Vehicle Program
* Good knowledge in requirements cascading & requirement analysis methods, example: DFSS (Design For Six Sigma)
* Interest in developing methods and processes
* Experience of Change management and Agile Way of Working is positive
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)

* Strong analytical skills
* Good skills in Networking
* Ability to plan, conduct, summarize and report your work in a structured and thorough manner
* Good communication and social skills and a willingness to actively participate in the team's common matters
* Open for changes
* Driver's license (B-level) and Passion for Vehicles
