hela Sverige Are you a quantitatively-minded scientist looking to manage a team applying bioinformatics, image analysis and machine learning to address biological questions for drug discovery? Would you like an exciting new challenge in a company that follows the science and turn ideas into life changing medicines?
We are recruiting an Associate Director, Quantitative Biology to join our Discovery Science organization and lead one of our teams in Gothenburg.
Discovery Science is part of AstraZeneca's R&D BioPharmaceuticals and functions across the therapeutic areas to support projects in the drug discovery pipeline. We cover the entire pre-clinical phase, from target discovery all the way to clinical candidates. Our Quantitative Biology team is a multi-disciplinary team of data scientists and our focus is providing quantitative insights to biology. We do this by improving the biological understanding of the target and its engagement, including supporting the identification of molecular mechanisms of action, providing image and data analysis solutions to high dimensional datasets, and by improving AstraZeneca's ability to prioritize target selection and portfolio projects based on probability of technical success.
Our beautiful campus in Gothenburg is one of AstraZeneca's three strategic science centers. The site is home to over 2,500 employees, from 50 different nationalities. Our site includes the complete range of functions, and as such offers plenty of development opportunities for a wide variety of professionals. We collaborate with academic and industry partners in Sweden and globally. And the site itself is designed with collaboration in mind. From the Coffee Lab to exercise areas, we've built a series of environments where innovation is fostered.
