We are now looking for an assistant professor in computer science with a specialisation in cybersecurity. You will be part of the team that teaches in our cybersecurity programmes and conduct research in the Cybersecurity and Privacy Research (CPR) research group. Our research areas are primarily within human, organizational, and strategic aspects of cybersecurity and integrity. Job description
In the employment as an assistant professor, you will perform teaching and research with a focus on cyber security or related subjects. Depending on the applicant's background, the teaching may be centred around cyber security (e.g., cyber security operations, network security, ICS/OT security, incident response, computer forensics, software security, etc.), information security (e.g., risk management, information security management systems, etc.) but also networking and infrastructure (e.g., computer networking, operating systems, system administration, cloud computing, etc.)
You are expected to build and maintain an academic and industrial network, actively apply for research funding, and play a key role in establishing and conducting research projects. You will keep yourself updated on your research area and the industrial and societal development of relevance for our department and keep our courses and programmes up to date. You are also expected to collaborate with other departments and schools at Jönköping University.
Qualifications
You should have a PhD in a relevant area and pedagogical merits according to the Appointments Procedure at Jönköping University. The candidate should also have documented skills in teaching in English. You should also have a track record in attracting research funding.
You need to have solid and documented experience conducting research in cybersecurity and/or information security or a related area. You also need to have experience in conducting teaching in at least one of the following teaching areas: cybersecurity, information security, network design, network security, wireless networks, virtualization, database administration, IT infrastructure, system administration, or related areas.
You should be development and quality-oriented, responsible, and pedagogically skilled. It is also advantageous if you perform well in an interdisciplinary environment.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Proven experience in developing courses and/or programmes at the undergraduate and/or advanced level
- Proven experience in competitively obtaining external research grants from funders relevant to a Swedish context
- Proven experience in thesis supervision at the undergraduate, advanced, and/or research level
- Ability to teach in courses on adjacent programmes in the department, e.g., software development, human-computer interaction, embedded systems, etc.
- Experience in research in other areas currently being conducted at the department, e.g., enterprise architecture, human-computer interaction, etc.
- Have a good ability to communicate in both spoken and written Swedish

The position is a permanent employment of 100%, starting 2024-04-01 or by agreement. Collective agreements and individual wages apply. This recruitment will be coordinated by Programme Manager Sonny Johansson.
