The Purchasing office in Russia is located at the Regional Production Centre in St. Petersburg and organised by Scania Peter.
The office constitutes of seven team members; Six purchasers and one quality engineer. Since the office is one of the co-operation activities run together there are a mix of persons from Scania and MAN.
As the contract of our current Purchasing Manager is ending we are now looking for his successor to take the overall responsibility of the Purchasing department.
Purchasing Manager - stationed in Russia, St. Petersburg
As Purchasing Manager you will develop a strategic supply base that will enable the Russia market r to benefit and to achieve its objectives through the responsible sourcing of goods and services. You are creative and have a high ability to cooperate with other functions at Scania and MAN by explore and challenge our supply base and way of working. You will be stationed at the office in St. Petersburg for a contract period of two or three years and you will have a unique opportunity to understand both Scania and MAN business as well as our Russian suppliers. You will demonstrate leadership throughout the supply chain so that our suppliers are clear on how they can exceed our expectations in a manner that engenders mutual success.
The work content is divided into two parts - commercial activities and process development. Commercial activities include negotiations and supplier selection, as well as supplier quality, service and cost development that deliver value added to the bottom line. The process development includes the development and the education in all purchasing objectives, policies and processes.
Within the purchasing team there are six Sourcing Managers from both Scania and MAN and one Supplier Quality Assurance engineer (SQE). As Purchasing Manager you report directly to the Director of Projects & Regions within Scania Purchasing, Södertälje and Head of International Purchasing within MAN Purchasing, Munich. You will also have a reporting role to the Managing Director of Scania and MAN in Russia.
Background
Your leadership skills and your ability to create confidence and trust among your internal customers and colleagues are vital, since you will manage and develop a team of Sourcing Managers and Quality Engineers as well as lead a change process and implement new methods and principles. The position also sets high demands of self motivation and powers of initiative.
The position also requires capabilities in establishing a good contact network within MAN Purchasing, Munich, since you will also represent MAN in this role.
We believe you have a University degree and a solid experience from working in a purchasing background, preferably in a managerial position. You should have the ability to gather and analyse data and to present decision choices accurately and concisely to senior management. Fluency in English is a must and knowledge in German and Russian a plus.
