Scania Engines is a business area within Scania responsible for sales and development of industrial and marine engines. The Engine business is doing very well with a new all time high for 2014 and we are definitely on track towards the ambitious 2020 target!
Scania Engines is now creating a new sales structure, including a strong Area Manager function. This function will be divided into the different markets (countries). We are now looking for two Area Managers.
Your role
As an Area Manager you are responsible for supporting our sales network around the world in the day to day business. Your geographic (countries) responsibility will be clearly defined to a smaller number of markets so you can focus and drive the development of the business in these markets. You are also responsible for finding new potential and leads to new business segments etc. You will work closely with the Sales Directors at the Business Units for each market and also with Key Account Managers, Product Managers, and many other parts of the Engines organisation.
Together with the business units you will decide and execute on an activity plan in order to reach the goals for each market. Negotiations and deciding on the price level for each market will also be a part of your job.
The work environment is both international and internal and the job requires frequent travelling, 30-50 days per year.
Your profile
To be successful in the position, you probably have at least 1-2 years experience from technical sales. You have a university degree with a technical focus or equivalent experience as well as being a person with genuine technical interest in combination with high level of commercial understanding.
For this job, it is important to have strong communication and presentation skills in order to educate and motivate. It really helps if you are entrepreneurial and you are able to work self sufficiently in a business environment with quick changes.
You speak and write English fluently at a professional business level. Additional language skills and experiences from working with different cultures is considered a merit.
