hela Sverige Swiss-based u-blox (SIX:UBXN) is a leading provider of wireless and positioning semiconductors and modules for the automotive, industrial and consumer markets. We are currently seeking an Application Engineer to strengthen our team in Malmö.
The Application Engineer is a part of the application engineering team, the holder of this job is responsible for the efficient bringing to market of short range radio products by supporting the Technical Managers in all aspects of resolution of technical problems. The function supports the improvement of existing products and the creation of new products by collecting and examination of market feedback and by analysis of competitive products. The efficiency of the application of our products is supported with the creation and maintenance of support tools and training of our Field Application Engineers and the Sales Staff in general.
Tasks:
Training, Information Exchange and Support of Technical Managers (TM)
• Creation of training materials
• Implementation and maintenance of Know-How exchange among FAE and from R&D to FAE (issues, design recommendations, bugs, and feature roadmap), incl. tools (FAE CD, TWiki, etc.)
• Hardware schematic reviews and advice, layout analysis
• 3rd level support for TM (escalation point of contact in R&D for TM)
• Support to FAE for critical customer design upon Sales / FAE request
• Customer specific / small Design Projects
Customization of core R&D deliverables (Hardware or Software)
• Supporting tools (e.g. programming sockets for FAEs)
• Reference designs (incl. verification of application circuits)
• Participation in Product Life-cycle Process
Preparation and delivery of technical field/market feedback in specification phase
• Dissemination of information to FAE organization after Prototype Release
• Maintenance of product support from Ramp-up phase onwards
Requirements:
• MS or BS in electrical engineering or computer science
• Must be familiar with Embedded Software, Semiconductors and Electronics
• Hardware design (schematics and layout)
• C programming of embedded, real-time systems
• C# programming in a Windows environment
• Used to work independently and precisely
• Customer-oriented, needs to be able to quickly understand the system architecture of customer's application, and advise field application engineers or key customer on possibilities, and consult on a technical level
• Good analytical skills
• Good English skills
• Hold a valid Swedish work permit
• Fluent in Swedish writing and speaking
Knowledge in the following areas is an advantage:
• Wireless knowledge in general and Bluetooth and/or WLAN knowledge in particular
• Networking protocols
• SPI, I2C, UART, USB and other communication interfaces
GCC, embedded debuggers (e.g. Lauterbach, ST-Link), MS Visual Studio
• GIT and SVN
• Technical writing capabilities
