Job Description
As we continue our quest to democratize financial services, we are now looking for an inspiring Android developer to join one of our Teams shaping up Zettle's Payments solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with a group of passionate people (product managers, app-developers, QAs and many more) working on making our Merchants' everyday experience best-in-class. A glimpse of what you would get here
Part of our Money Alliance, the HW team does the low-level integration work for all the POS hardware Zettle provides, from our card readers to things like printers, and barcode scanners.
You will work with the other members of the Hardware team to deliver a foundation for other teams at Zettle to build upon. One challenge you will have in the Hardware team is to do work that is well engineered, but also keep the user experience in mind so the developed solutions support building a great user experience on top of.
Working as an Android developer in Hardware team you will also be able to collaborate with the larger team of Android developers at Zettle, through code reviews and mob programming sessions. If this intro already sparks your interest, scroll down, and read on... the best is yet to come.
Who you are
We believe you are a technical contributor that enjoy collaborating with other talented, creative members of a product team to deliver something to be proud of. You are communicative and willing to share your knowledge and experience. You can consider multiple points of view and consider trade-offs for something that will eventually be put out into the world for someone else to use and experience. Developing products is sometimes hard work, so we also hope you are a person that finds the process exciting and see the fun in it, even under pressure, as we do.
Your responsibilities will include
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements.
Take an active part in the design of systems and features.
Implement systems, and features with a high level of quality, and maintainability.
Take end-to-end responsibility for implementation, from any lower-level, up to any included user-level experience.

The skills you need to succeed
You have extensive experience in Android development and have a good knowledge of both Kotlin and Java.
Good understanding of the interaction between hardware and software product.
You always write testable, maintainable code.
You have a quality first mindset and are eager to write tests, care for the overall performance of the product.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have
Experience with building solutions on top of AOSP.
Working knowledge of C/C++.
