Corporate Grade: Analyst Business Area: Barclays International - Corporate & Investment BankingDepartment/Function Level: BankingPrimary Location: StockholmIAR Role: No About Nordic BankingBarclays Nordic Banking team is a corporate finance team involved in the origination and execution of transactions with corporates and financial sponsors in the Nordic region. As primary relationship holders, the team have dialogue with clients across the full range of products offered by Barclays (including M&A, DCM, ECM, Risk Management and Credit Ratings). We are an equal opportunity employer and we are opposed to discrimination on any grounds.Overall purpose of roleThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting senior team members with the origination and execution of advisory and financing transactions for Nordic clients across all industry sectors and the full investment bank product suite (M&A, DCM, ECM, Risk Management and Ratings). The candidate will be expected to build relationships with external clients and relevant internal sector and product groups. Key AccountabilitiesInvolvement in the origination and execution of advisory and financing mandates for Nordic clientsAssist senior team members with the preparation of origination materials, including company and industry research, financial analysis, benchmarking, etc. Support senior team members in execution of advisory mandates comprising, inter alia, preparation of marketing materials, financial modelling, due diligence, process documents, etc.Prepare internal approval processes for both advisory and financing related transactionsUndertake research and monitor developments and trends in the marketProvide day-to-day project management support to senior team members and product partners Stakeholder Management and Leadership Work collegiately with colleagues inside and outside of the immediate team, in particular with sector and product teams in Banking, demonstrating effective teamworkSufficient knowledge of compliance, Barclays business principles and corporate values as well as key applicable laws, rules and regulationsAbility to support senior team members with origination and execution of transactions Decision-making and Problem Solving Demonstrate extensive analytical skills and ability to apply technical and modelling skillsDemonstrate developed problem solving skills Ability to grasp, retain and share technical conceptsAbility to perform under pressure whilst maintaining a high attention to detailRisk and Control ObjectiveEnsure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy StandardsPerson SpecificationStrong academic background (a minimum of Bachelor degree)Proven relevant investment banking (corporate finance/M&A) experience Ability to communicate effectively in one or more Nordic languages Proven strong analytical and modelling skillsExperience of preparing financial analysis, industry research and benchmarkingExperience of project management for senior stakeholdersProven knowledge of compliance principles within investment banking as well as key applicable laws, rules and regulationsStrong interest in the Nordic corporate and financial sponsor landscapePositive attitude and a high level of motivation to learn and developBest in class professional integrityExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong work ethics and demonstrated commitment to excellenceCommitment to delivery of highest quality work product; strong attention to detailProactive, self motivated and goal orientedAbility to effectively prioritise and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlinesStrong team player able to work effectively in a team environment and gain the confidence and trust of colleagues and clientsRegulated RoleThis role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
