hela Sverige We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join the Swedish team of the world's leading sports brand. You will be responsible for leading and executing all aspects of Financial Accounting, Reporting and Compliance at a managerial level, work in a first class environment and have an exciting career opportunity ahead within the company. In this role you will report directly to both the Sweden Finance Manager in Solna and the Western European Accounting Manager, based at European Headquarters in the Netherlands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages and monitors the complete month end accounting close process from journal entry through to preparation and subsequent analysis of monthly financial statements in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring appropriate financial controls, procedures and efficiencies are in place.
• Monitors all key financial reconciliations and ensures compliance with the appropriate local and Company policies.
• Participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of financial policies, procedures and systems to ensure company policies are implemented, transactions are appropriately accounted for and reports and prepared and analysed in a timely manner.
• Analyses financial records and reports to ensure they are in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for management accounts and Swedish Accounting Standards for statutory purposes.
• Manages the preparation of our external statutory accounts and the subsequent external audit process, including leading the coordination with our external auditors.
• Manages any Internal Audit and SOX compliance work with our Global counterparts.
• Ensures full tax compliance for the company to incorporate corporation tax, VAT and payroll taxes, and interface with relevant tax experts in our European HQ. Includes ensuring accurate and appropriate tax treatment in all areas, timely tax returns and submissions as well as partnering with our external tax advisors.
• Includes the direct management, development and accountability of a team of 1 qualified accountant based in our Solna office as well as remotely managing the performance of an external business partner located in India that undertakes some transactional finance work. The role requires continued project management of this external relationship and process optimisation.
• Delivers and seeks out efficiencies and specific action plans for improving processes, integrating activities and optimising department resources with a focus on value added activity.
• Provides ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested from both the FM and our European management team. Assists in elements of the budget and forecasting process and in providing information to leadership in support of management decision making.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor/Master Degree in Finance and Accounting or similar and holds a Professional Finance qualification, preferably in Accounting.
• The ideal candidate has 3-4 years extensive experience in accounting, ideally within industry. People management experience is considered a merit.
• Good MS Office and financial system knowledge (SAP preferable).
• Strong intellect, results-orientated with a personal impact and a sense of urgency.
• Proven track record of success and development in previous roles.
• High integrity, transparency, authority and confidence.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Travel twice a year to European HQ to attend the European Accounting Managers meeting.
