Vehicle & Rig Testing - let's introduce ourselves
Located 70 km outside of Gothenburg near Borås, Hällered Proving Ground is the hub for cutting-edge vehicle testing. With state-of-the-art test equipment we perform verification and validation activities to ensure durability, comfort, performance, reliability, and safety in our vehicles.
The group Vehicle & Rig Testing perform objective verification and validation activities according to customer requirements within the areas of driverless, AD (Autonomous Drive), ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), V2X (Vehicle to everything) and chassis objective testing (Vehicle dynamics and Clearance). We are performing the activities both in rigs and on the test track. During the winter season we also support expeditions at tracks in southern Europe and north of Sweden.
What you'll do
As a Rig Engineer in the AD & ADAS Track Testing team you will use state-of-the-art equipment such as driverless steering robots and self-propelling soft targets to develop new world leading vehicle functions. In this dynamic field, where AD, ADAS, and V2X testing are ever-evolving, you'll join one of the world's most skilled teams within this area. This role not only offers opportunities for self-development but also encourages you to initiate and lead the development of future test methods, systems, and components. There will also be possibility to participate in research and investment projects.
Responsibilities
• Plan, prepare, and execute tests on the test track.
• Hold technical, operational, and safety responsibility for the test setup and procedure, including rigs and equipment.
• Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of test equipment to meet existing and new testing and rating standards.
• Participate in the development of new test methods in close collaboration with stakeholders.
• Engage in the development of test equipment and digital tools within the area, often collaborating with other companies and universities.
What you'll bring
As a Rig Engineer you will be a vital part of our skilled team dedicated to performing and advancing vehicle testing. Working collaboratively in an unpretentious manner, you're eager to contribute to the team's progress. On a personal level, you are therefore a team-oriented and innovative person with a positive and proactive attitude. The role also requires a strategic and hands-on mindset, allowing you to witness the seamless integration of your ideas into reality.
As the work will involve handling advanced measurement equipment, ensuring measurement accuracy and being able to troubleshoot and make corrections during testing when needed, sometimes under time pressure, an interest in working with hardware is preferred. As a person you're also structured and well organized with a sense of quality and customer focus which will make you an ideal fit for this role.
Education and Skills
* M.Sc. or experienced B.Sc. in Mechatronics, Electronics, or similar education.
* Good skills in Electronics, Control, and Automation.
* Some experience in programming, preferably in Python; C and C++ are also meritorious.
Other Requirements
* Fluent in English (spoken and written).
* Possess a Swedish B-driving license.
Additional Meritorious Skills
* Knowledge of measurements and signal processing.
* Familiarity with Vector tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, and CAPL.
* Knowledge in communication networks such as LIN, CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP.
* Experience working with hardware and/or measurement equipment.
* Have some technology and mechanical interest.
* Experience with AD (autonomous drive) and V2X (vehicle to vehicle or vehicle to infrastructure).
