Weight Senior Analysis Engineer

The department Environment & Fluid Dynamics Centre works with the attribute areas Aero, Contamination, Environment, Fuel Economy, Climate, Thermodynamics and Weight. The mission is to strengthen the brand by leading the R&D work to develop environmentally sustainable cars in support of core value Environment and delivering robust cars in support of core value Quality. Within Weight Management and Optimisation we work with weight attribute on a vehicle engineering level. The work covers all aspects of weight, from concept to the homologation process. The group delivers range from cycle plan input, technical input into the needs and means process, development of next generation's weight strategy, legal compliance, setting and follow-up requirements cross programs and advanced engineering projects. The team is also coordinating an Optimization Arena at Volvo Car Group, which is a cross technical network for optimisation in concept as well as in program phase.

As a Weight Senior Analysis Engineer you will be a key player in our weight team and will work closely with different areas such as development teams, project teams and other areas within the department. We are looking for a person with high social competence, interest in cars and the weight attribute. You find it stimulating and fun to conduct continuously improvement work and to have broad contact surfaces in the organization. The work will mainly consist of project related work, target setting, benchmark and a close contact to the development departments.

Main responsibilities

* Ensure program deliveries and support the program with weight optimised technical solutions
* Development of System and CV requirements for future car projects
* Status analysis and reporting to programs
* Support in weight related issues cross units in programs
* Perform weight simulations in KDP and update some specific info
* Benchmark analysis on complete vehicle and system level
* Operational development

Required qualifications

* M.Sc. or equivalent experience
* Fluent in English, spoken and written
* Driver's license (B)
* Experience of automotive development is meritorious
* Experience from complete vehicle weight work is meritorious
* Database handling
