About Husqvarna Global Purchasing:
Purchasing at Husqvarna is organized in several functions securing quality, delivery, cost efficiency and sustainability of supply to Husqvarna on a global level. There are global functions in place, alongside a regional area of responsibility. Husqvarna Group are looking for a Vice President Regional Purchasing Europe, to further align the function and to ensure the implementation of total cost initiative and further ensure that the Group produces high quality products to the market.
Position/Job Description:
Leading the purchasing region from Huskvarna, Sweden; the VP Regional Purchasing Europe is responsible for three main purchasing areas; Commodity management, New R&D projects and Supplier quality and development. Furthermore, he/she is also responsible for creating value adding external events and taking on responsibility for relations with the most important suppliers. He/she will be a member of the Global Purchasing management team and will work closely with executives from R&D, Categories, Manufacturing & Logistics and other key areas in the Group.The European purchasing team consists of ca 40 people in Sweden, Germany, UK and Poland.
Essential Duties:
Be ultimately in charge of all commercial relationships with suppliers within the area of responsibility. Secure targeted levels of cost, quality, delivery precision, sustainability, etc.
Form a long term strategy of how to deliver the greatest value for the region and the group
Drive value by implementing strategic sourcing and entering into cost efficient agreements that fulfil supply
Requirements, by using a systematic methodology and a continuous total cost of ownership focus. Oversee the negotiation, development and maintenance of vendor agreements. Lead critical negotiations
Conduct cost saving activities, budgeting (including PPV and OMV), and annual price negotiations as well as LCC initiatives
Work to ensure purchasing is an integrated part of every new product development project, and that purchasing is involved at an early stage
Manage the local team for all purchasing related activities in the PCP process. Ensure teams share leading practices and lessons learned, use consistent methodologies, and pursue deliverables that are aligned with the corporate, purchasing and commodity objectives.
Manage supplier relations and secure commercial agreements in the product development cycle to ensure secured cost, quality, time-to-market as well as launch readiness project targets are met
Participate in Make or Buy decisions and provide a commercial and purchasing perspective in such decisions
Work together with the global Supplier Quality Assurance & Development (SQA&D) to establish an effective one Husqvarna way of working with regards to supplier quality assurance and development
Responsible for establishing, maintaining and improving the supplier quality assurance and development system in the region
Perform audits on new and existing suppliers with the purpose of evaluating the expected quality performance of the supplier, and provide relevant information into supplier selection decision forums and commodity management
Preferred qualifications:
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, engineering or other relevant discipline
Preferred: Master's Degree and recognized qualification in Purchasing
Experience:
Minimum 10-15 years of significant managerial and leadership experience
Minimum 15 years of purchasing experience in an international environment
Experience to work in a global company, international exposure.
Knowledge of industry and commodity areas plastic, steel, casting, packaging
Languages:
Fluency in English is required (written and oral)
Fluency in additional languages, e.g. German, Swedish, Chinese, or other language, is an advantage
