Model Based Verification Engineer

EPS (Electric Propulsion Systems) is a department in the powertrain unit within R&D responsible for research and development of Electrical Propulsion Systems. Within Volvo Car Group we closely cooperate with product planning, other engineering units, purchasing, and manufacturing and aftermarket. We also have deep cooperation with suppliers from all over the world as well as with academia and research organisations. At the engineering department of EPS, we are responsible of design and deliver Electrical Drive Systems (El machines and Inverters), High Voltage Battery Systems as well as Power Supply and Charging Systems for electrified vehicles. The group is responsible for the software development platform towards all in-house software teams. The group is also responsible for the simulation verification of the delivered software components using Model in the Loop development.

As Model Based Verification Engineer you will perform simulations for the hybrid high voltage system with the purpose of testing and verifying functionality and requirements on software components. The goal is to combine efficient formal test methods with statistical methods, to both catch faulty assumptions and bugs as early as possible and to build up a test suite with high test coverage, guaranteeing quality and legacy compliance. Most of the modelling and testing is performed using Matlab/Simulink, together with externally and internally developed tools.

Main responsibilities

• Perform simulations for the hybrid high voltage system with the purpose of testing and verifying functionality and requirements on software components
• Catch faulty assumptions and bugs as early as possible
• Build up a test suite with high test coverage, guaranteeing quality and legacy compliance

Required qualifications

• Minimum a degree at the level of M.Sc.
• Experienced in Matlab/Simulink
• Python and C/C++ knowledge
• Data driven and good documentation skills
• Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
