For our customer we are looking for a verification Engineer.
Job description:
You will be a member in a team of testers with the overall goal to find the issues in the platform by testing the Telephony related Use cases from System level. The platform is mainly build with Android or MeeGo as application framework/OS and the testing is conducted with native application or test applications in customers internal radio NW and Service LAN.
The work includes the complete chain from analyzing system requirements, writing test specifications, test instructions, develop test applications and test scripts, test the platform and educate regression test team to handle the regression.
Since the customer aims to have a solid regression test suite the programming skills are needed to create test applications and test scripts. The applications are written in Java or C++ and the test scripts are mainly written in Python.
The team are working according to an agile project setup were main focus is to test and verify the functionality that are being integrated on main branch and report the status back to the rest of the project. The overall drive that is needed is to find the issues before our customer gets the platforms. The job requires in depth knowledge of the Telephony Use cases and a drive to trouble shoot and break the system.
Technical skills:
Good knowledge and understanding of Mobile Platform (Architecture) including good knowledge on GSM/GPRS/WCDMA and test experience from Android of the Telephony Use cases:
• Voice (Supplementary service, Emergency call, Call info etc.),
• PS Data (TCP/IP)
• Messaging (SMS/EMS/Cell Broadcast)
• SIM/SAT
• AT
Program experience in some of:
• Python
• C/C++
• Java
Personal skills:
• Positive and open mindset with good communication skills
• Have a great interest in finding errors and ?hunting? bugs
• The ability to work independently and in teams
• Analytical mind with a great interest in the latest technology
• Drive for evolving the testing and put pride in working with test and verification
Since the team is a build on several nationalities fluent English in speech are necessary. All documentation is written in English.
Wanted competence:
Previous experience from working with telecom, with frame work/OS as Android, MeeGo, Symbian or Windows Mobile
ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
Previous experience of git as the source control management system
Working with open source and communities
