In Volvo Cars we are now in a search for an Analyst to Vehicle Energy Efficiency, to support Traffic Simulation and implementation of new propulsion system.

The department Environment and Fluid Dynamics Centre is responsible for the Core Value Environment at Volvo Cars R&D and has about 100 employees. This responsibility includes the following 7 attributes; Vehicle Energy Efficiency, Environmental, Weight Management, Thermodynamics, Aerodynamics, and Contamination and Climate comfort.
The group Vehicle Energy Efficiency, Strategy and Requirements delivers electric range, cycle plan input, fleet impact analysis on CO2, and technical input into development of next generation's CO2 simulation platform.
What you'll do
We increase focus on Traffic simulation and New propulsion system, because these are core activities when we are looking into future personal transportation including e.g. a mix of autonomous and human driven cars. Traffic simulation and requirement setting for Vehicle Energy Consumption will be one of your main responsibilities as Analyst within Vehicle Energy Efficiency, and you will be one of the team members working within these areas. You will have challenges within programming, modelling, big data analyzing, machine learning and EV development and el-systems analysis among other things.
Your main responsibilities will be to support the team with analyses, data management and simulations, as well as including implementation of algorithms for new technology. You will work with programming and model development. You will develop and set requirement for car programs, and benchmark with respect to Vehicle energy consumption.
You and your skills
You have at least M.Sc. degree in Electrical, Computer engineering, Mechatronics or other equivalent area and have a good programming competence. We expect you to have a basic knowledge of computer modeling and experience using MATLAB, C/C++ and naturally MS Office programs. English is our official language, hence fluency in English would be a qualifier. It is desired that you have a good understanding of vehicle systems and electrified vehicles, and at the same time genuine interest in automotive industry.
