Group Truck Purchasing is looking for an Uptime Buyer within Uptime Vehicle Europe team.
Uptime, adaptation & synergies is a global organization within GTP supporting Service parts purchasing, Vehicle adaptation purchasing and aiming at building strong purchasing synergies amongst the various Purchasing organization of the Volvo group
• Uptime purchasing focuses on ensuring customer uptime by building relationship and engaging suppliers throughout the life cycle
• Adaptation Purchasing supports three different areas: Customer Adaptation (CA), Special Vehicles (SV), Trailers and Superstructures (TST)
• Group synergy hosts GTP South America and GTP India as Group Purchasing synergies pilot to capitalize on potential Synergy opportunities among all Purchasing entities within Volvo Group
As Uptime Buyer Europe, you will be responsible for a purchasing portfolio of parts delivered to the Volvo warehouses and remanufacturing plants in Europe. You will be part of a dynamic and integrated European buyer team located in Gothenburg and Lyon.

Mission
The Uptime Buyer is leading the activities with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure the customers maximum uptime and satisfaction.

Main responsibilities
• Manage a purchasing portfolio for service parts
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers in order to secure the best QDCF-TSR performance
• Define strategies for the segments in the scope and seek for synergies with other relevant strategies developed in the Volvo Group
• Source or resource parts in projects or in maintenance according to these strategies
• Rationalize the portfolio with consolidation towards responsive and service minded suppliers and drive activities related to the supplier switch if needed
• Scout and seek for new suppliers offering new solutions with alternative/new technologies
• Use Volvo Production System toolbox to drive efficiency across the supply chain
• Highlight improvement opportunities and drive negotiations
• Drive supply chain optimization (SCO) and low performance supplier improvement activities
• Perform purchasing activities related to ordering, logistics and financial flows to the suppliers
• Ensure implementation of contracts and agreements with suppliers
• Forecast prices evolution
• Manage risk mitigation and crisis activities
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with internal cross functional stakeholders such as Service Market Logistics, Spare Part engineering, Commodity and Project buyers, Brands, Quality etc.
• Lead Performance Reviews with suppliers and contribute to Business Review Meetings with suppliers (BRMs)
• Mentors and helps to develop colleagues
• Report direct in line to the Purchasing Manager
• Foster the Volvo values (customer success, trust, passion, change and performance)

Qualifications
• Business acumen and customer focus with an holistic view
• University degree in Business, Engineering, supply chain or related field
• 2 years' experience in Purchasing and/or negotiation experience in a supplier/customer relationship
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Positive attitude, service minded and target oriented approach
• Team player acting with integrity and trust based collaboration
• Strong team player, autonomous with the ability to take initiatives
• Appreciate feedback and seek for continuous improvement
• Multicultural experience is an asset
• Willingness to travel from occasionally to frequently based on ongoing activities
