We are now looking for a UI Designer!
About the job
As a UI Designer at Arrowhead, you are responsible for conceptualizing and applying UI designs across multiple systems of our games. You will make sure that the UI works consistently and is representative of the game mechanics and improves the user experience. UI Designers at Arrowhead works closely with programmers and game designers in order to follow through the implementation of UI designs. As a UI Designer you are also expected to have a good enough understanding of the implementation processes' and to be able to work around any potential technical limitations.
Your responsibilities:
• Create complex and reusable UI prototypes.
• Take design ownership of individual UI systems such as menus, interactions or flows and ensure visual-, design- and quality consistency with all other UI systems.
• Collaborate freely with other departments, such as design, code, tech art or animation, to make sure that the final product not only meets your design concepts, but also the requirements of the other disciplines and seek out additional information where needed.
• Support and provide guidance to junior UI Designers.
Requirements:
•
Proficient in UI Design software (Figma or equivalent), having a deep understanding of the tools and features, and able to use them to create more complex and detailed designs, UI templates and motion concepts.
• Being able to work independently and comfortable taking initiative.
• Proficient in art softwares suitable for UI art production, able to consistently deliver high quality UI assets.
• Good understanding of advanced UI and UX principles such as UI/UX design theory, layout, menu composition, flow design, input devices and navigation
Nice to have:
Tools experience: Adobe Suite, Stingray (or equivalent)
Experience with UI art production and/or scripting
More about you
As a UI Designer at Arrowhead you are expected to understand and apply good UI/UX principles as well as having a good enough technical skill to be able to cover all bases of the UI design work - from wireframing, prototyping and quick design iteration to producing assets, implementation (together with programmers) and be responsive to when issues occur. They should be able to work highly collaboratively in a hybrid team environment, take direction and feedback, and be able to manage their time effectively to meet project deadlines.
