HVDC is a business unit within the Power Grids division. ABB's HVDC unit (High Voltage Direct Current), with headquarters in Ludvika - develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.
The Global Procurement and Logistics organization at ABB HVDC is strengthening its ability to perform professionally and add competitive value services within purchasing and logistics. The global PL organization is responsible for an annual purchase of over 800 MUSD, delivers value and service to ABB HVDC's large infrastructure projects around the world.

Tasks:
As Transport and Logistics Specialist you will develop, plan and implement Transport and Logistics strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality and delivery. Implementing a Just-in-Time mindset in our way of working are a key-factor for success.
You will be responsible for transport feasibility, transport budget, transport RFQ and contracting for our projects worldwide. This is essential due to that the transport and logistical impact is high on HVDC projects result. Cross-functional work is needed in great extent to create Risk Analyze-Mitigation cases, support the design of HVDC sites, support and be active part on transport schedule.
You will be engaged in creating good relationships that will develop both ABB and our suppliers on a long-term basis. The role reports directly to the Transport and Logistics Manager at HVDC, you are a member of a team of about 10 people, focusing on large projects all around the world.
Requirements:
You are an outstanding analyst, taking decisions in a fact-based way ensuring that the best business opportunities are implemented. You will also have a key role interacting with HVDC stakeholders in tender and project execution, sales team, general management levels at HVDC and Business Unit/Division ABB organization. You also like to set challenging goals and see them be realized.
On a personal level, you are a reliable team player with an independent and result oriented working style, as well as strong communicative and collaborative skills. Moreover, you are good at building extensive networks internally as well as externally and like to negotiate. You consider yourself to be an energetic, motivated and self-confident person who can handle both ups and downs and manage problems that may occur. You are also genuinely interested in technical components and systems and believe in cross-functional team success by contributing to best design and component selection.
You are familiar to work in a large project environment close to the customer and have 5+ years of experience in advanced Transport and Logistics with a proven focus on Heavy Lifting experience. You are fluent in English and have an academic degree in business or engineering.
