We are looking for a Testing & Laboratory Specialist to expand our global product development team for rail and e-mobility. You will execute tests in various laboratory departments on different devices using a complete knowledge of standard references, testing methodologies and requested requirements. Evaluate and document test results for use as supporting knowledge in the development of new products.
Your responsibilities
Support R&D projects around the globe with planning and execution of mainly electrical testing, both in ABB and external test sites.
Design and build test setups in safe and sustainable way together with the local test engineer or test technician.
Ensuring that prototypes are correctly prepared, tests are correctly performed, results evaluated and thoroughly reported.
Prepare, report and present results to our stakeholders.
Developing new test procedures and techniques due to new standard requirements or expansions.
Proposing improvements to test techniques based on experience and knowledge of trends and equipment.
Assisting external certification inspectors during testing activities.
Training new team members in test operations and processes.
Your background
A university degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, mechatronics or equivalent.
Minimum three years of experience in testing, validation, qualification or commissioning, preferably working as testing specialist with high power electric motors and drives.
Preferably experience in traction products and high interest on practical R&D experimentation, testing and validation in a High-Power testing environment.
Experienced in automated test sequencing and drive cycle operation and data acquisition.
Knowledge of quality management, metrology and data management are a plus. At least interest in different aspects of quality management for laboratories is essential.
Fluent in English, written and spoken alike, whereas knowledge of Swedish is preferred.
High level of cooperation skills with different people and cultures.
